The capital, Abu Dhabi

• Ruled by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, it is the capital of the country and has the largest population.
• Because it was home to antelopes, it was named Abu Dhabi. It is said that a hunter caught an antelope on this island after getting tired, but he was very thirsty and suffering from thirst, so he went looking for a well for it, but it had dried up by the time he reached it.

• Abu Dhabi is distinguished by many tourist attractions, the most famous of which is the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, which is the largest mosque in the world and can accommodate about forty thousand worshipers.
• The mosque is luxuriously designed, decorated with mosaics and gold, and contains the largest carpet in the world. It is one of the most beautiful tourist places in Abu Dhabi.
• Next among the landmarks is Qasr Al Hosn, which is the oldest historical building and reflects the history of Abu Dhabi from the eighteenth century until the present day. Due to its beautiful design, tourists flock to see it from those interested in history.
• Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is an amusement park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It occupies an area of ​​two hundred thousand square metres, so it is the second largest amusement park in the world.

Emirate of Dubai

• It is famous for its international shopping facades, and tourists flock to it. The word Dubai is a diminutive of the word Dibba, which means small locusts that have not yet developed wings.
• It is ruled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister.
• It was named that because of the spread of locusts there at that time, and Dubai is distinguished by the most famous tourist attraction in the world, which is the Burj Khalifa.
• It is the tallest tower in the world, 828 meters high. It is located in downtown Dubai, and has many restaurants and hotels. It is also located near the Dubai Mall.
• Nearby we find the Dubai Fountain, which is the tallest dancing fountain in the world, and is characterized by five circles that release water to very high heights, which a person can see from a distance of more than thirty kilometers.
• Palm Jumeirah is a global icon. It is a palm-shaped island, built in the Gulf Harbour, and includes many entertainment and dining venues as well as residential areas.

Sharjah

• It is a coastal area surrounded by water on both sides. It was named that because it is located in the far east of the Emirates, and it is known as both a cultural and coastal city.
• It is ruled by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, who is a member of the Supreme Council of the UAE Federation.
• Sharjah is the cultural capital of the Emirates, as it is full of heritage sites and mosques, as well as some important landmarks.
• Sharjah Lake is one of the most beautiful projects because it provides the opportunity for visitors to practice many water activities, in addition to the lake’s fountain, which is nine meters tall.
• The Sharjah Art Museum contains more than five hundred artifacts, and is considered one of the largest art galleries in the Gulf region. The artworks are distributed over two floors.
• Sharjah Aquarium is an important visit for lovers of life in the water, as it contains aquariums filled with various types of aquatic life, and it consists of two floors, each of which contains more than one hundred and fifty species of marine creatures.

Ajman

• It is the smallest of the seven emirates. The reason for its name contains conflicting statements. Some say that this is because of a tribe that used to live there called Ajman, and another says that the reason is the presence of a large number of Persians there in the Persian wars.
• It is ruled by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, who is a member of the Supreme Council of the UAE Federation.
• One of its most prominent tourist attractions is the Ajman Museum, which contains local traditional life tools and also displays Emirati weapons.
• Al Zorah Nature Reserve includes more than sixty species of fish and birds, and is one of the most prominent natural landmarks, as it extends over seven kilometers of waterfront.

Umm Al Quwain

• This is a residential area, there are not many important landmarks, and its name comes from Umm al-Quwain, because it is known for its sea and land power.
• It is ruled by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE Federation.
• It also includes Umm Al Quwain Castle, which was a fortress for ancient rulers, in addition to six other castles, and some natural islands that are visited by tourists, such as Al-Siniyah, Al-Ghala, and Al-Harmalah.
• Although it is a residential area, this does not mean that it is devoid of some entertainment, such as Dreamland Umm Al Quwain, which is a water park with many different water activities.
• This park occupies an area of ​​250 km2, and has various water activities such as surfing and boating, in addition to swimming.
• Happy Land Umm Al Quwain is one of the largest entertainment cities, as it extends over a large area and has many distinctive activities.

Ras Al Khaimah

• It is ranked fourth among the cities of the seven emirates in terms of area, because it includes three ports. It was named so because of the tent that Queen Zabaa used to set up on top of a mountain, and its old name was Julphar.
• It is ruled by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE Federation.
• It may have been given this name in reference to the tent that was erected by Al-Qawasim, where it guided ships on their way. It is one of the most visited cities in the Emirates, due to its many archaeological landmarks.
• The Ras Al Khaimah National Museum was the headquarters of the ruling family until the early sixties, so we find in it some correspondence between the rulers of the Emirates, and it also contains a section dedicated to weapons found at this time.
• North Julfar is a small village with hundreds of graves in the pre-Islamic period. Many hand-made pottery items and ancient weapons were discovered there, and you can also find the Pearl Museum located on the shores of the creek.

Fujairah
